GTA vI : 12 New Screenshots Reveal More About Leonida, Wildlife and Weather
Where These New GTA VI Screenshots Come From
The new screenshots are part of Game Informer’s GTA VI cover story, which takes readers behind the scenes of Rockstar’s upcoming game and explores how the studio created Leonida. The feature also includes new information from Rockstar developers about the game’s environments, wildlife and weather systems. Rockstar Games has given GTA 6 fans another chance to explore the world of Leonida through 12 brand-new screenshots, and there is considerably more to these images than simply another look at the game’s impressive graphics.
The screenshots are part of Game Informer’s new 12-page Grand Theft Auto VI cover story, which includes interviews with Rockstar developers and new information about the game’s world. The images show everything from Vice City’s streets and beaches to wildlife, vehicles, characters and more remote parts of Leonida.
With Grand Theft Auto VI now scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, these new images give fans another opportunity to examine Rockstar’s world before the game finally arrives.

The New Screenshots Show A Much Bigger World
One of the clearest things these screenshots demonstrate is the variety Rockstar has built into Leonida.
GTA 6 isn’t simply about driving around Vice City. The screenshots move between dense urban environments, beaches, rural landscapes and areas surrounded by vegetation and wildlife.
That variety should make travelling across the map feel very different depending on where Jason and Lucia are.
The wider world is also divided into six regions, giving players more areas to explore beyond the central Vice City setting.

Vice City Looks More Detailed Than Ever
Several of the new images focus on Vice City, showing the level of detail Rockstar has put into its fictional version of Miami.
The city appears packed with pedestrians, vehicles, buildings, signs, vegetation and smaller environmental details.
Rather than making every location look identical, Rockstar is using different architecture, scenery and activity to give areas of Leonida their own identity.

Vice City returns with a much more detailed and densely populated environment.
This is one of the areas where the screenshots are particularly useful because fans can zoom in and look for small details that may not be obvious during a trailer.
GTA 6’s Wildlife Is A Huge Part Of Leonida
Wildlife is another major theme running through the new images.
Rockstar has revealed that GTA 6 will feature more than 170 animal species, with both native and invasive wildlife appearing throughout Leonida.
That is a remarkable amount of variety for an open-world game and should make exploring areas away from Vice City feel much more alive.
Animals can be found across different environments, including land, air and water.

The screenshots also help show that wildlife isn’t simply being used as background decoration. Animals are part of the wider ecosystem Rockstar is attempting to recreate in its fictional version of Florida.
Weather Could Change The Way Leonida Looks
The new information also reveals just how ambitious GTA 6’s weather system is.
Rockstar says the game features dynamic cloudscapes and localized storms, meaning players can potentially be standing beneath clear skies while seeing heavy rain in the distance.
Even more interestingly, weather can leave persistent effects behind.
Rain creates puddles and wet surfaces that remain after the storm has passed, making the environment react to changing conditions.

GTA 6’s weather system can create dramatically different conditions across Leonida.
Rockstar has also confirmed tropical storms and hurricanes for Leonida, although the developer has not explained exactly how frequently these larger weather events will occur or how strongly they will affect gameplay.
That leaves plenty for fans to discover once GTA 6 launches.
Jason And Lucia Look Right At Home
The new screenshots also give us more looks at GTA 6’s two protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
Rather than showing them exclusively during dramatic story moments, some images place the characters inside the everyday world Rockstar has created.
That helps reinforce the idea that GTA 6’s open world is designed to be explored between major missions.

Jason and Lucia remain at the centre of GTA VI’s story.
The pair can be seen in different environments, giving fans more clues about the variety of situations they may encounter across Leonida.
The Screenshots Show More Than Just Pretty Graphics
Perhaps the most interesting thing about the new images is the amount of information hidden inside them.
A screenshot of a beach can reveal pedestrians, clothing, vehicles, buildings and environmental details.
A rural image can show wildlife, vegetation and the differences between Leonida’s regions.
An action shot can reveal weapons, cover systems, vehicles or character animations.

GTA 6’s World Looks Built For Exploration
Rockstar’s new information suggests that Leonida has been designed to feel like more than a backdrop for missions.
The combination of six regions, more than 170 animal species, changing weather and a wide range of environments should give players plenty to discover while moving around the map.
That could be particularly important once players finish the main storyline and begin exploring GTA 6’s world on their own.

More GTA 6 Details Are Still Coming
The Game Informer feature is only one part of Rockstar’s latest GTA 6 information push.
That means there are likely to be plenty of smaller details for fans to discover as the new information continues to be examined.
