The hype surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI is no longer limited to the game itself. From limited-edition vinyl records to exclusive collectibles and Vice City-inspired clothing, fans are rushing to get their hands on official merchandise. But some resellers are taking things to another level, listing certain items for prices that are thousands of pounds above their original retail cost. GTA 6 Merch Scalpers Are Charging Up to 2,735% More Than Retail

A new report from GTAVice.net has highlighted some extraordinary resale listings for official GTA VI merchandise, with one keychain reportedly listed for 2,735% above its original price. The situation raises questions about how far some sellers are willing to go to profit from the excitement surrounding Rockstar’s upcoming blockbuster.

GTA VI Merchandise Sells Out as Resellers Raise Their Prices

Rockstar Games launched its official Grand Theft Auto VI merchandise collection through the Rockstar Games Store on October 8 2026,The hype has been fed by surprise GTA 6 creator packages that Rockstar sent out to influencers ahead of the store drop. The collection includes clothing, accessories and collectibles inspired by the upcoming game.

However, demand has already taken its toll on availability. According to GTAVice.net’s report, 15 of the 26 merchandise items listed on the UK store were sold out across all available sizes and colours when the website checked the collection, And restocks may only be the start, reports suggest 55 GTA 6 items could be coming to the Rockstar Store which would give resellers even more targets

The unavailable products included multiple T-shirt designs, a cap, a canvas tote bag, the Vice City Zippo lighter, a money clip and the GTA VI keychain.

As stock disappeared, listings began appearing on eBay with significantly higher asking prices. While some collectors may be prepared to pay extra for merchandise they missed at launch, the difference between the original prices and certain resale listings is difficult to ignore.

The GTA VI Keychain Has One of the Biggest Markups

One of the most striking examples involves the official GTA VI keychain.

Originally priced at £13.99 in the UK Rockstar Store, the collectible was reportedly listed by a German eBay seller for €425. That represents a staggering markup of approximately 2,735% compared with its original European retail price.

A separate UK listing reportedly offered a sealed keychain for £275, representing an increase of around 1,866% over its original UK price.

The keychain is not the only item attracting inflated listings. The Vice City Zippo lighter, originally priced at £35.99 in the UK, appeared on eBay for prices reaching £199.97. The Vice City money clip, which originally cost £22.99, was listed for as much as £130.69.

These figures demonstrate how quickly limited availability can create opportunities for resellers. However, it is important to remember that advertised prices do not necessarily represent completed sales or what buyers are genuinely willing to pay.

T-Shirts, Tote Bags and Stickers Are Also Affected

The resale activity extends beyond the more unusual collectibles.

GTA VI T-shirts that originally cost £25.99 were reportedly listed for between £42.29 and £75. Meanwhile, one seller was asking £150 for each colour of the official canvas tote bag, which originally retailed for £36.99 in the UK.

There is another detail worth highlighting: some merchandise was still available directly from Rockstar when the report was published.

The sticker collection, originally priced at £8.99, reportedly appeared on eBay for as much as £34.99. The holographic sticker collection, which cost £5.99 officially, was listed for up to £29.99.

The pink and blue canvas tote bag was also still available through Rockstar’s store at its original price, despite a reported £150 resale listing.

For fans looking to collect official merchandise, checking the original store before purchasing through a reseller could save a considerable amount of money.

The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection Is Still Available

Rockstar’s premium The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection has also attracted attention from resellers.

The collector’s box was listed at £349.99 in the UK, with the US price set at $399.99. Despite its premium price, GTAVice.net reported finding 126 listings for the collection on eBay UK, with an average asking price of around £500.

One particularly expensive listing from a US seller was priced at $1,558.80, with an additional $167.38 in postage to the UK.

The important detail is that the collection was still available to pre-order directly from Rockstar at the time of the report. The official store also limited purchases to one per customer.

Furthermore, the reported resale listings were pre-orders. The collection was not scheduled to ship until November 19, 2026, meaning sellers listing it ahead of delivery did not necessarily have the physical product in their possession.

Anyone considering a purchase should carefully check the listing’s delivery terms and whether the seller can fulfil the order.

GTA VI Vinyl and Limited-Edition Controllers Face Similar Problems

The merchandise situation is not limited to clothing and accessories.

The limited-edition GTA VI: The Album vinyl reportedly sold out within an hour of becoming available for pre-order on September 17. GTAVice.net found resale listings ranging from £150.07 to £567.70, compared with the original UK price of £108.99.

The report also highlighted the limited-edition GTA VI DualSense controllers. Both designs had sold out in the UK, where the original price was £74.99. Some eBay listings reportedly reached £208.70.

These examples show that the demand for GTA VI-related products extends well beyond the game itself. Collectors are competing for physical items connected to one of the most anticipated releases in gaming.

Should GTA VI Fans Pay Reseller Prices?

For fans hoping to secure official GTA VI merchandise, the safest approach is to compare prices with Rockstar’s official store before spending extra on a resale listing.

Rockstar has not confirmed whether all sold-out products will return to stock. However, fans can add unavailable items to their wishlists on the official store and check for potential restocks.

Buyers should also be cautious when searching marketplaces. Listings for unofficial or 3D-printed GTA-inspired keychains can appear alongside genuine Rockstar merchandise, so checking product descriptions, seller details and authenticity is essential.

Ultimately, a high asking price does not automatically mean an item is worth that amount. With GTA VI merchandise attracting significant interest, some sellers are clearly hoping collectors will pay a premium to avoid missing out.

For now, fans may be better off checking official availability before giving resellers hundreds of pounds for products that originally cost a fraction of the price.
