GTA 6 Trailer Drove 100,000 Netflix Sign-Ups In The US In One Day, Analyst Claims

The latest GTA 6 Extended Look may have done more than generate millions of views and social media discussions.

According to analysis from Ampere Analysis, the 26-minute GTA 6 Extended Look reportedly helped Netflix attract more than 100,000 new sign-ups in the United States in a single day.

The figure highlights just how much attention Rockstar Games’ upcoming blockbuster is capable of generating, even outside the traditional gaming audience.

GTA 6 Becomes A Major Netflix Event

Netflix and Rockstar Games teamed up to give viewers an extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI, with the footage being available through Netflix during an exclusive six-hour window.

According to Ampere Analysis, that window was enough to make the GTA 6 Extended Look the third-biggest Netflix event of 2026 for new subscriber sign-ups.

Only two events reportedly attracted more new subscribers during the year: the final season of Stranger Things and the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano MMA fight.

That puts GTA 6 in some impressive company.

The game hasn’t even launched yet, but Rockstar’s marketing campaign is already reaching audiences far beyond people who regularly follow gaming news.

More Than 100,000 US Sign-Ups In One Day

Ampere’s analysis claims that more than 100,000 people in the US signed up for Netflix around the GTA 6 Extended Look.

The report also highlighted the number of existing Netflix members who returned to the platform specifically to watch the GTA 6 footage.

More than 5% of US Netflix members who had not watched anything on the service during the previous 30 days reportedly returned to watch the Extended Look before watching anything else.

Ampere described this as a particularly strong “reactivation rate.”

For Netflix, that could be just as important as the number of new subscribers.

Why GTA 6 Is So Valuable For Netflix

Netflix has been making a bigger push into gaming, and partnering with Rockstar gives the streaming service access to one of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world.

GTA 6 is not simply another upcoming video game.

It is one of the most anticipated entertainment releases of the decade, with enormous interest across gaming, social media and mainstream audiences.

The partnership therefore gives Netflix an opportunity to attract people who may not normally spend much time on the platform.

It also puts Netflix directly into competition with platforms such as YouTube for gaming-related attention.

Rockstar Gets Something From The Deal Too

The partnership isn’t only beneficial for Netflix.

Rockstar Games gets another major platform through which it can promote GTA 6 and reach potential players who may not regularly follow traditional gaming websites.

The Extended Look showed gameplay, cutscenes, characters, locations and several new details about Vice City.

That makes the footage particularly valuable as Rockstar continues building hype ahead of launch.

And with GTA 6 scheduled to release on November 19, 2026, there is still plenty of time for the marketing campaign to grow.

Rockstar’s previous GTA 6 footage has already generated enormous interest online, and the Netflix partnership shows how far the promotional campaign could potentially extend.

GTA 6 Hype Continues To Grow

The latest Netflix figures are another indication of the extraordinary level of interest surrounding GTA 6.

From record-breaking trailer views to huge social media discussions, Rockstar’s upcoming game continues to dominate gaming conversations.

The game is also expected to have a major impact on the wider gaming industry once it finally arrives.
