Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick Talks GTA 6 Online, PC, Languages and Microtransactions
Take-Two Reveals New GTA 6 Details Ahead of November Launch
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has addressed several major GTA 6 questions, including GTA Online, PC, international languages, marketing and microtransactions, during the company’s 2026 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
With GTA 6 scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, shareholders used the meeting’s Q&A session to ask about Rockstar’s highly anticipated game and Take-Two’s plans surrounding its launch. Zelnick confirmed that GTA 6 will launch as a single-player experience on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while also confirming that GTA V Online will continue to receive support.

GTA 6 will launch as a single-player game
One of the most important comments came when Zelnick was asked about GTA Online. Instead of revealing details about a future online mode, he reiterated that GTA 6 is launching on November 19 as a single-player title for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Take-Two has not officially announced a GTA 6 online component yet, meaning the company has still not provided details about how an eventual GTA 6 Online could work or when it could launch.
That distinction is important because speculation around GTA 6 Online has been growing for years, but Zelnick’s latest comments don’t confirm an online mode.
GTA V Online will continue to be supported
While GTA 6 Online remains officially unannounced, Zelnick did provide an update on the current GTA Online experience.
He confirmed that GTA V Online will continue to be supported, describing the existing online game as a “robust business” for Take-Two. No specific end date or timeframe for that continued support was announced.
This means GTA V Online will continue alongside the upcoming GTA 6 release rather than immediately disappearing when GTA 6 launches.
PC is becoming more important to Take-Two
PC players also received an interesting update during the meeting.
Zelnick was asked about the company’s approach to PC releases. While he did not announce GTA 6 for PC, he said Take-Two’s strategy is generally to release games on platforms where there is a meaningful audience.
He also specifically stated that the PC platform is becoming “more and more important” to the company.
GTA 6 has currently only been announced for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Therefore, the latest comments should not be treated as a confirmation of a PC version.

GTA 6 will launch with 13 languages
Take-Two also provided details about GTA 6’s international launch.
Zelnick confirmed that the game will initially be localized into 13 languages, with the possibility of additional languages being introduced over time.
The languages listed in the source include:
- English
- French
- Italian
- German
- Russian
- Japanese
- Polish
- Korean
- Simplified Chinese
- Traditional Chinese
- Spanish (Mexico)
- Spanish (Spain)
- Portuguese (Brazil)
Zelnick also said that Take-Two can add other languages over time like For EX: Turkish Language, although no specific timetable or additional language list was provided.
GTA 6 marketing campaign will be significant
Take-Two also discussed the scale of the GTA 6 marketing campaign.
Zelnick described GTA 6 as a potential global event, explaining that the company adapts its marketing activities for individual regions using local offices and marketing partnerships.
He also said the game’s marketing footprint will be “very significant”, while making clear that more specific marketing information would come directly from Rockstar Games.
That could mean fans should expect Rockstar to increase its promotional activity as the November launch approaches.
No recurrent spending planned for the GTA 6 launch
One of the biggest questions concerned microtransactions and other forms of recurring spending.
Zelnick was asked whether Take-Two planned to include recurrent consumer spending with GTA 6. His answer was specifically tied to the game’s single-player launch.
He said there is no recurrent consumer spending anticipated for this launch.
However, this does not confirm what Rockstar may eventually do with a future GTA 6 Online experience. Take-Two has not announced the business model for an unannounced GTA 6 online component, so questions surrounding future online purchases, GTA+, virtual currency or other monetization remain unanswered.
GTA V has now sold more than 230 million copies
Zelnick also highlighted the extraordinary commercial longevity of GTA V.
According to his comments, GTA V has sold more than 230 million units worldwide since its 2013 launch. He also pointed to the game’s continued presence among the industry’s top-selling titles over many years.
The success of GTA V helps explain why GTA 6 is such an important release for Rockstar and Take-Two, particularly with the next game now approaching its November gLOBAL launch.
